Student Information
& Registration System!
If you fall into any of the
categories or situations below, having taken care of these prior to registering
within the WNMU Information & Registration System will both enhance and
expedite your on-line registration!
The information on this page is
placed here to assist you with the overall Registration process. Many questions
will come up and on this page, many of the answers are found. If you still have
questions that this page does not address, please call the Registrar’s Office
at 538-6118 or 1-800-872-9668.
But, before you get on with
pre-registering for classes on-line, there are some things that you could do to
make it all go smoother and avoid having to stand in line.
1.
Resolve the
following Holds before you pre-register: Compass,
Declaration of Major, Suspension, Registrar and Graduate Provisional. Using your ID number and PIN, follow the instructions
below beginning with the "On to Registration!,"
"Logging In!," "Menus!," "Student Services &
Financial Aid;" now navigate to "Student Records," and finally
"View Holds." If your records list any of the above Holds, refer to
the chart below these instructions, and then visit the appropriate office to
remove these Holds. If you have Holds in addition to those listed above, you
must resolve these holds prior to finalizing (i.e. taking care of your
financial obligations, etc. at the Business Office) for the semester you are
now pre-registering. If you fail to remove ALL Holds prior to the
semester you are pre-registering, you will be disenrolled
at the beginning of that semester and dropped from your classes.
2.
Review your
proposed schedule with your advisor. Once
your schedule is approved, your advisor will give you your Alternate PIN that will
allow you to pre-register over the web. Alternate PINs
or APIN(s) are only distributed to students who have a declared major.
3.
International
Students only: You must check in with the Admission’s Office before you
register. Students’ must be enrolled: Full-time; 12 hours as an undergraduate
or 9 hours as a graduate.
Each of the above items must
be done before you can pre-register.
Registering over the web is not available to new students,
students with undeclared majors, concurrent students or special students – only
for continuing students. Regular students may elect to pre-register in
person at the Registrar's Office.
Resolve the following holds before you
pre-register: Compass, Declaration of Major, Suspension, Registrar and Graduate

What
you will need to register online:
·
Web pre-registration is limited to currently enrolled,

Everyone else must register at the Registrar’s Office.
·
You will need your ID# and PIN# to log onto the system.
·
Check your Registration status
·
Get your Alternate PIN#
·
Review the information in the use of the Registration Menu
of the WNMU Information & Registration System.
You can
make changes to your registration until the close of registration.
To
register online for a given semester, you will need an additional PIN. To get your
Alternate PIN, take your proposed schedule to your advisor for his/her
approval. After approving your schedule, your advisor can issue your Alternate
PIN. This Alternate PIN is valid for registering for only one particular
semester, and you will have to get a different Alternate PIN for each semester.
Note:
If your advisor is not available,
check with the department chair.
If you
elect to pre-register in person, your advisor must sign and add your Alternate
PIN (APIN) onto your registration form.
To
maintain a level of security for you and your information: the WNMU Information
& Registration System Web Browser requirements are Internet Explorer 6
with the security patch or Internet Explorer 5.5 with service pack 2. The
following versions are recommended for Mac: Internet Explorer for the Mac 5.1.
A Netscape browser may also be used with the following version: Netscape 6.2 or

The “Registration
Errors” box lists those classes you tried unsuccessfully to register for.
The Status column explains why you were not able to register for the class.
·
Co-requisite Required: You must register for both the class
and its co-requisite. For example, Photo 302L is a co-requisite for Photo 302.
You cannot register for Photo 302 without simultaneously registering for Photo
302L.
·
Time Conflict: Two classes you attempted to register
for have overlapping meeting times. The error message will state which CRN the
rejected class conflicts with.
·
Prerequisite and Test Score Error: You do not have
one or more of the prerequisites for a class. You must bring a signed
prerequisite waiver to the Registrar’s Office to be registered for that class.
Classes you are currently enrolled in fulfill pre-registration requirements.
·
Closed Section: The class is at maximum capacity. You
must bring a signed course override form to the Registrar’s Office to be
registered for that class.
·
CRN does not exist: Check that you entered the correct CRN
and that you are registering in the correct semester.
